Crackle-canvas #1

by Tom Verbruggen

🏆 Honorary Mention · Prix Ars Electronica 2012

Tom Verbruggen's “Crackle-canvas #1” was honoured with a Honorary Mention at the Prix Ars Electronica 2012, category Digital Musics & Sound Art.

A crackle canvas is a painting that produces sound. It contains a circuit board, speaker, knobs, switches, wood and canvas. Each canvas makes sounds by itself but can be connected via cables (patched) with other crackle-canvasses. This way the paintings start to react on each other.
