Emerald City

by Laurens Lapré

🏆 Honorary Mention · Prix Ars Electronica 1993

In 1993, the Prix Ars Electronica jury recognised “Emerald City” by Laurens Lapré (Computer Graphics) with a Honorary Mention.

'Emerald City' was inspired by looking at emerald crystals embedded in granite rock. The crystals are partly transparent and some of the rock can be seen through them. There are interesting parts just visible while others are only guessed at because they remain hidden within the rock.
