In 2011, the Prix Ars Electronica jury recognised “Energy Field” by Jana Winderen (Digital Musics & Sound Art) with the Golden Nica.
Jana Winderen is concerned with finding sound from hidden sources, like blind field recording, and to give us a better understanding on how creatures of the ocean use sound to orientate themselves, meet each other and hunt for prey.
About Jana Winderen
Jana Winderen (NO) is an artist educated in fine art at Goldsmiths College London, with a background in mathematics, chemistry and fish ecology from the University of Oslo. She has since 1993 worked as an artist, curator and producer.
