Soomi Park's “LED Eyelash” was honoured with a Honorary Mention at the Prix Ars Electronica 2008, category Interactive Art.
The “LED Eyelash” project was initiated from a very simple question: Why do women want bigger eyes? Asian women’s desire for bigger eyes may be understood as a kind of fetish, the fetish of big eyes, which may be explicable with the plastic surgery obsession.
About Soomi Park
Soomi Park (RK) is a multimedia artist living and working in Seoul. She received her BFA from Sookmyoung Women’s University and MA in digital media design from IDAS (International Design school for Advanced Studies) Hong-Ik University in Seoul, Korea.
