these are the days

by John Tonkin

🏆 Honorary Mention · Prix Ars Electronica 1994

John Tonkin's “these are the days” was honoured with a Honorary Mention at the Prix Ars Electronica 1994, category Computer Animation.

"these are the days" is about the passing of time. It is a physically based simulation of falling white paper. By combining mathematical models of different physical phenomena such as gravity, elasticity and aerodynamics, I create simulations of real world systems in virtual space.
